We lead you towards sustainable coffee

For over 140 years, Beyers Koffie has meticulously combined coffee beans from various origins into excellent blends. We do this with respect for tradition, expertise and care. But most importantly, we source our coffee with a vision for the future.

We are leading the way to sustainable choices. As a full-service coffee provider, we guide you towards the best option for your brand, answering the demands of today's consumers.

Sustainable coffee from bean to cup

Independent third parties have certified our coffees for their sustainability. Amongst the most famous labels, there are Rainforest Alliance, BIO, and Fairtrade. These labels prove our coffee solutions are sustainable - from bean to cup.

Sustainable coffee in sustainable packaging

We care about coffee and also about the materials we use to pack your precious roasts in. The choices at Beyers for types of packs are numerous, and they follow the latest developments in technologies and techniques available on the market. From recycle-ready to compostable, from capsules to foils, we are sure we have a solution available that fits your needs.

We offer a wide series of options and lead you to the most sustainable choice, but some things are standard. For instance our paper: All corrugated boxes at Beyers have the FSC label, and the duplex boxes which we use for packing the Nespresso™ compatible capsules in are PEFC certified.”

Farmer connect

Connected with our coffee farmers

Through Farmer Connect, we help coffee farmers connect with the supply chain. Through the Farmer ID app, they can receive loans, share information about their coffee beans, and connect with end consumers.

When you scan the QR code on your pack of coffee, you can trace your coffee, all the way back to the farmer who produced your coffee beans.

You can even thank your farmer for growing and harvesting your coffee. Farmer Connect is built on blockchain technology and powered by IBM. It brings a first-class experience to end consumers – because, as we all know, seeing is believing.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint

At Beyers Koffie, we’re committed to making better coffee with a smaller footprint. In 2024, Sucafina joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) – a global movement to cut emissions in line with the Paris Agreement. We’re proud to support that commitment with real action.

Here’s how we’re reducing our impact:

  • Switching to cleaner roasting: We’re building a fully electric, zero-emission roasting line that uses 2.5x less energy than traditional systems.
  • Generating clean energy on-site: We produce solar energy through rooftop panels, reducing our reliance on external power sources.
  • Producing nitrogen in-house: By generating nitrogen on-site, we eliminate daily truck deliveries and cut emissions.
  • Encouraging greener commuting: Our bike leasing program supports low-impact mobility, and we’re electrifying our vehicle fleet.

From smarter technologies to everyday choices, we’re taking real steps to lower our carbon footprint and support a more sustainable coffee industry.

IMPACT

Responsible Sourcing Through IMPACT

As part of the Sucafina Group, we take part in the IMPACT program – a responsible sourcing framework that helps us build a more transparent and sustainable coffee supply chain. Through IMPACT, we work closely with farmers and cooperatives in coffee-growing regions to improve lives and protect the environment. The program focuses on five key pillars:

  • Living Income: Supporting farmers to earn a decent and stable income
  • Regenerative Agriculture: Promoting farming practices that restore soil health and biodiversity
  • Carbon Emissions: Reducing climate impact from farm to factory
  • Human Rights: Protecting workers and communities across the supply chain
  • Forest Conservation: Preventing deforestation and promoting land stewardship

With direct relationships at origin and clear traceability, IMPACT helps us deliver ethically sourced, high-quality coffee, creating long-term value for people and the planet.

EUDR compliance

We fully support the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which takes effect on December 30, 2025. The regulation requires that coffee entering the EU be deforestation-free and legally produced—a goal that aligns closely with our values. We’re already taking action by ensuring full traceability in our coffee supply chain, down to the plot level. Working closely with our partners at origin, we’re strengthening forest protection, supporting sustainable farming practices, and helping build a more transparent and responsible coffee industry.
